Medicare Supplement
Complete Your Medicare Coverage
Protect Yourself from Unexpected Costs
A Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plan is designed to help cover the out-of-pocket expenses that Original Medicare doesn't pay, such as deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance.
What Is Medicare Supplement Insurance?
Unlike Medicare Advantage, Medigap plans work alongside Original Medicare (Parts A and B). They are standardized plans offered by private insurers, providing additional financial protection and predictability for your healthcare expenses.
Benefits of a Medigap Plan
Benefits include:
- Freedom to visit any provider that accepts Medicare
- Little to no out-of-pocket costs for covered services
- Nationwide coverage when traveling in the U.S.
When and How to Enroll
The best time to enroll is during your six-month Medigap Open Enrollment Period, which starts the month you turn 65 and are enrolled in Part B. During this window, you have guaranteed issue rights—meaning you can’t be denied coverage or charged more due to health conditions.
Outside of this period, you may still apply, but medical underwriting could apply.
